If the version of Android is installed, you should follow the following steps regarding the installed version, ie on the Android version.
  • STEP 2: Application Initial Setup:

    Android

There are two ways to set up the application once installation is over:
    • From a notificacion message: On Android device start up, if the application is not properly set up, you will see an alert on your notifications bar. Clicking on the notification will take you to the configuration screen of the application.

The application sets itself up on its first run, after that you may customize your preferences using your device's menu button, choose "preferences" from the options available.

The configuration options that can be modified by users are:

    • Device ID: Device identificacion number (Device IMEI).
    • User name: Name of the user of the device.
    • Protect : This option enables a password protection for this screen, this way it can be avoided changes and/or misconfigurations done by unauthorized users.
    • Password: If previous option is enabled, this is the field that contains the password that will be required to edit the device's configuration.
    • Auto-start: When enabled, the application will start autom?tically whenever the phone starts up..
    • High accuracy GPS : Enable this option to get more accurate GPS positions. When disabled, GPS positions could be less accurate but battery will last longer. Please read our tips on saving battery.
    • Checking interval : Number of minutes between GPS position recordings.
    • Schedule: Set up of daily time frames when GPS positions will be recorded. This allows to protect employees' privacy once they are out of their working hours or similar situations.
  •

  • STEP 3: Website Initial Setup:

    All device types

Once you are a registered user in the website, you just have to add to your list of devices those on which you have installed the application.
To manage your devices log into the website as a registered user and browse to menu option Devices -> Device Management , that page will let you list, edit and delete devices from the website, as well as creating new ones. To add a "New Device" you will have to fill in the following fields:
    • Name: Device name (free text that will help you to distinguish the device).
    • IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity): This generic code is the best way to identify in a unique way each device. The application installed on the device fills this value in its configuration screen and you will have to fill in the same value to match the data sent from the phone. If the value doesn't match the one in the phone application, none of the GPS sent by the phone will show on the website.
To discover your phone's IMEI number you can:
      • Android Operating System: Access menu Settings -> About the phone -> Status.
      • NDonde Application: The value of configuration parameter Device ID.
      • Dialing *#06# on your mobile
    • Description : A short (optional) description to help you remember important details about this device.
    • Enabled : The device might be enabled or disabled. When disabled all data sent from the device will be discarded, and enabled is the standard behaviour.

    Android

It is now possible to register a new account and the monitored device at the same time during the installation of the android application. This registration process takes place the first time the android application is started on the device, letting users choose among:
    • Register a new device: To add a new device to an existing NDONDE account (the one filled in during the installation). Right after successful set up, the device will be ready to send GPS data.
    • Register a new NDONDE account and its first device: Filling mandatory user data directly on the device, it registers a new user account and a new device at the same time. Right after successful set up, the device will be ready to send GPS data.
    • Do nothing: If the user account and the device have already been registered previously, there is no need repeat the process. This is the standard option in case of application reinstall.
